Face Paint

Here is a pic of Kate after daycare last week. The remains of her "patch" dog. She ran up to me and said "face" then "woof dog". Great language for her considering we are battling verbal dyspraxia. Have just spent the last hour and a bit mowing lawns. Came in to discover the girls have had a great time with Millie inside and there is lamb raisins and wee all over the couches. ARGH. That lamb is becoming a problem.

Meet our new addition!

This is Millie our lamb. She is 3/4 suffolk, so will be white and black when she is older, rather than the grey she is now. She is very cute, but is not drinking well. I guess she doesn't like cows milk, or fake lambs teats. Already she has found her way into the house and christened the carpet! Arghhhhhh. The girls love her, and she seems to enjoy being craddled and carried around. At the moment she is adorable, but ask me in two weeks time when she is eating my plants, piddling everywhere, and baa-ing at 5am.

No scrapbooking - photo's to share.

Things have been very busy with spring time on the farm, and sadly no scrapbooking has happened. I have managed to make a few cards for upcoming friends birthdays, but that is it. I was mowing the lawns the other night and snapped a couple of spur of the moment photo's of the girls so will share these. Can't believe how much Kate is growing up - not a baby any more!

Buddies - Mozzie and Lucy

This layout isn't quite complete - it still needs some journalling and date etc, but as I've had to dust off my overalls and gumboots for Spring on the farm, it may be a while before it is completed. Mozzie was our cat, named Mozzie by Lucy because she was a real biter, like a mosquito. Sadly she was run over at about 7 months old. The best wee pet - she used to play on the trampoline, ride in the basket on Lucy's bike, and bring crawlies from the creek inside! We still have Silver who we got at the same time, but he doesn't like the kids!

Calves are coming in now. Had to bottle feed some wee twins this morning as they hadn't had a feed from the cow. Kate was fascinated and impressed by the size of the bottle!!! Probably won't have many posts over the next few months while life is crazy busy. Had a play with some resin last night on photo blocks. If they turn out I may show them.

Up2scrap published

Apparently one of my layouts is published in the latest Up2scrap magazine. I haven't seen it yet, so hope it looks ok!!! Can't wait to get my hands on a copy......

Splash

I love these Kaiser papers - thought they were too old fashioned or boyish but used them anyway. They went well with the pics. I inked the edges of the paper layers in Java ink which made them stand out a lot better. The word and splash shapes are inked in blue, and have bling added. The photo doesn't do the layout justice, but you get the idea. This is Kate in her favourite place! Several times every day she asks for a bath, and when told no says "shower?"

Face of Felt

Kate loves to use felt tips - lucky for me I buy washable ones, because she has a bad habit of drawing on anything but paper. One day I walked into the lounge to find her standing on the table having drawn all over the picture and frame that hangs above it. This day she told me "butterfly" - I think that is what she was decorating herself as! Kaiser craft papers, gold brads, buttons, gold cord, large chipboard letter.

Bathing Beauty

I'm really struggling to get motivated to scrap the girls baby photos, and until I do I can't really put albums together as I want them in sequential order. This is one of the few baby pages I have done - Daddy learning how to bath new born Lucy.

Dawson Falls

Back at the beginning of June we had some decent snow falls. This layout features some pics of our visit to the snow. Lucy had a blast - haven't seen her sooo giggly and excited in a long time. She got right in to throwing snow balls, and got me a good one! Kate wasn't so sure, and went really pale with the cold. The photo of this layout isn't great sorry. Used felt for the first time - the snow flakes.

Papers are Kaiser Craft. Wooden words which I inked, and lots of bling!

Beach Bums - Onemana

It has been a long time since I posted on my blog, so I have a few to share today. This first layout has photos from our holiday in Whangamata. We went to a cute wee bay (Onemana) fishing one day. The wind was bitterly cold, no sun to speak off, the waves rough, but Kate was into being nude, and so decided to once again strip off. The papers are "My minds eye" - flowers, and rub-ons also.

Poppet and Lucy

Unusual colours!!! Not sure if it works, but done now. Poppet is one of very few jersey cows in our herd, and a real pet. Loves a good scratch, and cuddle.

Up2scrap

Well, I have had a fantastic day out scrapbooking - kid free!!! Loved every minute of it, but because I'm such a slow scrapper I only completed one double page over an entire day. Came home to an email from Up2scrap magazine wanting one of my layouts by next week for their magazine, but previously they had discarded it, so I showed it on my blog. It was titled Rainbow Lamb - some may remember seeing it?

Lucy is 4 today!!! Where has the time gone? Had afternoon tea for her with family and friends. Spent last night making her birthday cake and wrapping presents. Barbie dolls were right up there on her list of "wants" and she also wanted a barbie cake, so this is what I made. Hope to get some scrapbooking done later in the week, so check back for layouts.

Last nights effort...

I did this layout of Kate in the Lavender at Lavender Lane (Stratford) back in February. I think I will make it into a double page as I have some more lovely photos from the same day to scrap. Been on the farm feeding out this morning - very crisp, but the sun is out now and we have a stunning day!

Next layout...

This layout is very plain, but I didn't want to distract from the great pics of Lucy and Jorja playing together. I used my date stamp on this - something I have had in my stash for several years and not used. It is a Heidi Swapp brand, and reminds me of the stamps libaries use to use before computers. Only the font is much more trendy! Also used white brads to create a focus circle.

Finally some more layouts to share!

This layout is using the monthly sketch challenge from http://www.scrapboxnz.com/ In real life the colours are a lot better. They haven't photographed very well. Talking about cameras, I'm the proud owner of a new digital. I'm yet to try it out, but am very excited to have a camera that will now fit in my handbag as my other camera is an SLR and large! Anyway, this is Lucy fishing at the wharf in Whangamata with her pink lipstik rod she got for Christmas. I used glossy accents on the lettering so they are, well, glossy and stand out from the rest of the papers.

My baby is 2!

Well, it has been a long time since I posted. I haven't done any scrapbooking for a long while, as I have been busy relieving at school. We had Kate's party today. I made the swimming pool cake, which she loved. We just had immediate family and two close friends attend. Lovely sunny weather, and lots of party food. I'm hoping the next two years with my wee darling will be easier than the last two, and that she might begin talking and behaving - lol. The speech therapist comes on Tuesday. I'm hoping for a miracle.

Friends

No matter how many times I rotated this before uploading the image it always went portrait. I'm furious that I can't figure it out. Does nothing for the layout being on its side, and makes it hard to view.

This is Lucy and her first pet lamb named Baa-t (by her) as Lucy was only 16mths old and it was about all she could say. They were great friends. Baa-t was so gentle with Lucy and followed her everywhere. Sadly Baa-t died young. We're not sure why, but suspect it was a heart attack due to being so obese.

Scrambled Eggs

Here is another of the layouts I submitted - often the eggs end up cracked with Kate throwing them in the bucket hence the title.

Rejects from Up2scrap magazine...

I submitted 6 layouts to Up2scrap for a future feature they are doing called "Fun on the Farm". Five were shortlisted, but now they have shortlisted again and it is down to one - the ugliest and least creative of them all. I would love to know on what basis they select layouts. Below are two rejects....I'm not showing my two favourites yet - I will keep them for another day.

Oh and once again one has appeared on its side - damn it!

I've been on holiday...

...in the beautiful Whangamata for a week with Paul and the girls. Had great weather until the day we had to come home. There were weather warnings out - lots of flooding and trees down.

Here is Lucy with one of the fish she proudly caught using her new Lipstix (bright pink) fishing rod she got for Christmas.

And here is Kate sporting the latest in beach wear - some geeky goggles that she insisted on wearing. The majority of the time she thought the beach was for nudists and got her kit off.

And here are the girls together early one morning watching a spot of TV!

Lily as a new pet!

Here is a page I completed a long time ago. It was the first page map (sketch) I ever tried. Now I love them. Am off to work today. Looking forward to it, as it will be a nice break from sick kids! Here's hoping this pic is the right way up, and you don't have to turn your head to view it.

Oh shit - I really have to work this out - why blogspot rotates everything!

No picture tonight...

Have a few pics uploaded of some recent layouts, but I was very brave and submitted them to the Up2scrap magazine for an upcoming theme. 5 of them have made the shortlist, so I am not allowed to publish them in any way including on a personal blog, until they have made their final decisions in March. Kate is unwell today - infected throat and ears, so best I get to bed incase it is a night of no sleep like last!

First Steps

I completed this a few nights ago - the challenge was to use only 5 things from a given list, and photos, cardstock, and patterned paper counted. The other two things I used were rub-ons and rhinestones (bling). I found it very difficult as I love embellishments. This is Kate - learning to walk the day before her first birthday. Seems like soooo long ago!
Once again I'm sorry as the image is on its side - it was the correct way up, but seems the blogger site rotates everything to be landscape, and this image was photgraphed in portrait or vise versa - I haven't quite worked it out!!!

Photo Blocks

Here are some photo blocks I made for a friend of her cute wee girl. Usually I do the photo's in black and white, and I think it is better than colour. Have to say they are not my best!

Up2scrap

I have to share with you all a proud mummy moment. Lucy is on the cover of the latest Up2scrap magazine. Not my work, just supplied the pic but very cute all the same.

Lily's New Do - and my new blog!

Originally I had a post before Angelic, but as I'm technology challenged I must have done something wrong as it hasn't shown up. I guess it is floating in cyber space somewhere. Anyway, it basically said welcome to my blog - a place where I will share the creative things I have been up to.

It also had this layout of Lily that I created using a sketch from http://www.scrapbookdreams.co.nz/ I bet Lily is enjoying the freedom of having less wool to carry around.
Unfortunately this is on its side, and no matter how much of the blogger help site I read, I cannot figure out how to rotate it. The original image was not like this! Told you I was technology challenged.

Angelic

Here is a page I scrapped of Lucy before she was two. The skirt she is wearing was a favourite, and Gran (Great) bought her the matching one for her teddy!
